Remember the time two idiots who had nothing better to do with their lives logged on to overheardatmcgill.com and decided to start a debate about the double-standard of political correctness on a website intended to give people a chuckle?

Well i guess both your comments did give me a chuckle too. Ironically, they are worthy of being posted on this website as separate “over heard” posts!

Agreed. There’s definitely a double-standard where we can make fun of Jews and Christians ’til the cows come home, but dare not say anything that could, even taken the wrong way, offend Muslims…

Why are you apologizing for this quote and headline?

The headline was intended to poke fun at the girl’s ignorance; not at Islam itself.

Secondly, why is this issue (Islam) held on a higher plateau then other issues that are incorporated into your headlines (IE: fat people, whores, stupid people, drunk people, etc).

By apologizing to people who may have been offended by a meaning of the headline that isn’t even applicable then surely you should be apologizing to every sector of society that has in fact been directly poked at via your headlines.

Before anyone freaks out about the headline, we’re sorry if you’ve taken it as an insult towards Muslims. It’s not intended as so, but rather just to make fun of the ignorance of Girl, who speaks loudly and rudely in a room with people praying. So, yeah, we hope it didn’t offend. Unless you’re the Girl, in which case, the intention was to offend you.
