Ha, that’s cool. I’m the guy in question in that quote. Just to put it into context, it was said literally a couple hours after he died, my friend read it off the computers available in the gym and told me as we were walking out.
I also didn’t say, “Thank God”, I said “Well, at least they finished The Dark Knight.” It was probably insensitive given the situation but I didn’t mean anything by it.
Well that was the reaction of most the guys i knew… and hey, its true!!!

I don’t understand why everyone’s getting so upset and saying that this is in poor taste – did you KNOW him?
He was an actor. He did a few movies. It’s not like he was a National hero.
I’m disappointed at how invested such intelligent people are in the lives of celebrities.
While I can sort of understand how this quote can be construed as being insensitive, I didn’t mean to disparage his death. Rather, I was simply trying to look at the positives in light of his death.
He’s dead and none of you were ever close enough to him for it to really affect you. When I’m dead you can talk about how I was a huge twat if you want, I’ll be dead.
